WORSHIP
Our Practice
Everything we do during our corporate worship aims at magnifying God’s infinite worth and displaying His surpassing glory. We exist for God, not for ourselves. This God-centered focus shapes every aspect of church life.
In our corporate worship gatherings, we prioritize elements that exalt God: Scripture-saturated singing that teaches sound doctrine and stirs godly affections; reverent prayer that acknowledges God’s holiness and our dependence; faithful exposition of God’s Word that explains divine truth and applies it to life; and meaningful celebration of the ordinances that proclaim the gospel.
Biblical Foundation
God created humanity to worship Him—to reflect His glory and find our highest joy in knowing and loving Him (Isaiah 43:7; Psalm 73:25-26). Worship is not primarily about meeting our needs or expressing our creativity; it is about ascribing to God the glory due His name (Psalm 29:2; 96:8).
The regulative principle suggests that corporate worship should consist of elements explicitly commanded or modeled in Scripture: prayer, singing, Scripture reading, preaching, the ordinances, and giving.
SERVICE DETAILS
Music
We sing songs that are theologically rich, biblically grounded, and God-focused. We value both historic hymns and contemporary worship music, unified by doctrinal soundness rather than divided by musical style. We prioritize congregational singing over performance-oriented music, recognizing that worship is participatory, not spectatorial. We pursue musical excellence as an offering to God while maintaining accessibility for the congregation.
Preaching
The sermon is the centerpiece of our worship service because God’s Word is the primary means by which He speaks to His people. We devote significant time to biblical exposition, believing that faithful preaching honors God and edifies His church more than any other element of worship.
Prayer
We include various forms of prayer—adoration, confession, thanksgiving, supplication, intercession—modeling for the congregation how to approach God. Our public prayers are substantive, biblical, and focused on God rather than merely listing needs or desires.
Ordinances
We celebrate baptism and the Lord’s Supper regularly and meaningfully, using these ordinances to proclaim the gospel and strengthen faith. We explain their meaning clearly and guard them from abuse while making them accessible to all believers.
Children
We do not have childcare during the service, therefore children worship with their parents during that time. We recognize that this can be challenging for parents with younger children especially, but we are currently not able to provide any alternate service or accommodation for children who may have a harder time during the service. However, we do welcome children of all ages to be a part of the general worship service as we believe it can be formative and helpful even at a young age.
Sunday Liturgy/Order of Service
