Core Values
1. Gospel-Centered
The gospel of Jesus Christ is central to all we believe and do. We return to the gospel continually—not merely as Christianity’s entry point but as the power that drives the entire Christian life. The same grace that justifies also sanctifies, and the gospel speaks to every human condition and every life situation.
1 Corinthians 2:2; 15:1-4; Romans 1:16; 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
2. Word-Driven
We submit to Scripture as our ultimate authority in all matters of faith and practice. The Bible is fully inspired, entirely without error in the original manuscripts, and completely sufficient for all that pertains to life and godliness. Where Scripture speaks with clarity, we listen and obey—even when cultural norms or personal preferences suggest otherwise.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105; John 10:35
3. Spirit-Empowered
We depend on the Holy Spirit for transformation and mission. Apart from Christ we can accomplish nothing of eternal significance. Prayer is not merely preliminary to ministry—prayer is ministry. We saturate everything we do in prayer, both individual and corporate, acknowledging continually our need for divine wisdom, power, and blessing.
John 15:5; Acts 1:8; Zechariah 4:6; Ephesians 5:18; 1 Thessalonians 5:17
4. Community-Focused
We pursue authentic relationships and biblical community. God designed Christians to live in committed relationship with one another through membership in local congregations. The New Testament contains dozens of “one another” commands that cannot be fulfilled in large gatherings alone—they require smaller communities where people know and are known, love and are loved, serve and are served.
Acts 2:42-47; Romans 12:10; Galatians 6:2; Hebrews 10:24-25; 1 John 1:7
5. Mission-Minded
We actively participate in God’s mission to the nations. Every Christian is a missionary sent into their sphere of influence to make Jesus known. We work with risk-taking faith to make disciples to the ends of the earth, driven by the sobering reality that people without Christ face eternal separation from God. We give generously to missions, plant churches strategically, and equip every member for everyday witness.
Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:14-15; 2 Corinthians 5:20
How Our Values Shape Us
In Worship – We celebrate God’s saving work in Christ, exalting His glory through Scripture-saturated singing, reverent prayer, faithful preaching, and meaningful celebration of the ordinances.
In Discipleship – We create clear pathways for spiritual growth, equipping believers through biblical teaching, intentional relationships, and practical ministry experience.
In Community – We structure church life around committed relationships through membership covenants, small groups, ministry teams, and shared meals where genuine life-on-life discipleship occurs.
In Mission – We equip every member to live on mission in their workplaces, neighborhoods, schools, and social networks while supporting church planting and global missions generously.
In Leadership – We develop leaders who serve humbly, shepherd faithfully, pursue unity, invest in others, and find joy in making Christ—not themselves—famous.
Our Commitment – These core values represent more than aspirational ideals—they describe operational commitments that shape our decisions, direct our resources, structure our ministries, and define our culture at Coram Deo Church. They flow from our understanding of Scripture, express our theological convictions, and guide our practical ministry.
We exist for God’s glory and the world’s good—gathering corporately to worship God, to encourage one another, and to be equipped for works of service, then scattering into the world to live as salt and light, making disciples through gospel proclamation and demonstration.
